Kanji toshi (year)

In this entry we are going to learn on our second kanji for today. Lets learn on how to write or draw japanese character for "Toshi". "Toshi" means year. I think you can see this kanji when the japanese write the date.
In kanji"年" there are 6 strokes. First stroke is from top right to bottom left. Second stroke is from left to right. Third stroke is also from left to right. Fourth stroke is from top to bottom. Fifth stroke is again from left to right. The final stroke is from top to bottom.



Kun-yomi for the above kanji is "toshi".
On-yomi for the above kanji is "Nen".

A few words that use kanji "年" are as below:-
Toshi (年) = Year
Nengajou (年賀状) = New year`s card
Nenjuu (年中) = All year around
